Baltimore District Office transferred part of I-485 pending cases to other CIS offices

District Director Caterisano has reported that because the Baltimore District Office is so far behind in meeting the 6 months average processing time for I-485s, they have “remoted” a number of their pending cases to other offices to adjudicate. Right now, cases have been sent to the Buffalo, Cleveland, and Portland (ME) district offices, and the Albany suboffice for adjudication. Most were older cases where an I-72 or NOID had been sent, the applicant had responded, and the case was just waiting for adjudicator review. These are a mix of IR, CR, FB, and EB cases. They tried to send cases without any "issues", which were easily adjudicated. Director Caterisano reports that these were not adjudicated because they're too busy interviewing new cases to review the old cases and it's just a matter of having too much work and not enough staff to complete in a timely manner.
